Founded On. March 9, 1856 at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Alabama Sigma Alpha Epsilon is North America’s largest social fraternity with more than 310,000 initiated members, including nearly 14,000 current undergraduates. Mission The mission of Sigma Alpha Epsilon is to promote the highest standards of friendship, scholarship, and service for our members based upon the ideals set forth by our Founders and as specifically enunciated in our creed, “The True Gentleman.” We turn today’s college students into tomorrow’s leaders. With a comprehensive member education and development program, the True Gentleman Experience, and more than 155 years of history, the men of Sigma Alpha Epsilon live by our creed.
